Polka & Dots

by brittney

I’ve been itching to wear this skirt for the longest and finally got the chance when I went for a bite to eat with friends. The underskirt/lining that ASOS put in with the skirt was extremely too short for me so I added my own. The polka dot on polka dot combo is fun, quirky and slightly unexpected. Here you have a romantic-ish skirt that many probably over-think/over-style with a casual cotton tee that’s typically worn with jeans; the result of the two combined is perfect. The chartreuse belt adds interest and a fun pop of color.

Mix Master

by brittney

I’ve wanted to mixed a striped garment with a floral piece for the longest but I never had the appropriate floral to make the look work. A few weeks ago I stumbled across this floral skirt while searching the racks at Forever 21. I knew right away that I needed to wear it with stripes, more specifically a smaller stripe. I added the black belt to create a bit of a separation between the two prints since they are both very much dominate. I wanted to keep everything else around this look simple so I opted into wear minimal accessories and a nude shoe. What prints do you plan on mixing up this summer?

Chambray This, Chambray That…

by brittney

I’ve become obsessed with this chambray blouse. I’ve had it for over two years but as of late it’s the only top I want to wear. It works with everything from a sequin skirt to a comfy pair of harem pants. It’s perfect! I’m currently on the hunt for a new one. Perhaps one that has more of a distressed look to it. Any who, the skirt is from Forever 21, it’s one many of the Aztec inspired items I got when I went through my iloveeverythingaztec phase. Sadly, I hate the way these shoes photographed but what’s done is done right?

Dressed for Whatever

by brittney

I’ve been itching to wear this leopard print skirt for years… no, really I got it two years ago. I’m known for buying pieces and waiting to wear them for the perfect occasion. It’s been a habit I’ve been fighting for a long time now and I’d like to say that I’m getting better. I wore this to brunch with my bew and was surprisingly comfortable giving the length of the skirt. This booties are probably the most comfortable shoes that I own (outside of flats.) I’m sad that I’ll be packing them away until Fall soon. My bright cardi and a few metallic accessories complete the ensemble.

Chaotic

by brittney

I usually never photograph when I’m out and about because I’m usually too caught up in what I’m doing to snap a few good photos. On this rare occasion I lunched and shopped with Christina. After a failed attempt of trying to return shoes to TopShop we stopped and snapped these pictures in what may be the busiest part of downtown Chicago. It was interesting to say the least…
