I’m a self proclaimed Google master, expert if I may. So, when it came to dressing for a 70s party the first place I hit for references was Google. I was thinking Donna Summer and disco, you know shit like that. What I got was tie-dye and bell bottoms, which are two things I don’t own. So, there I was lost and staring blankly at my closet an hour before the party began. Eventually, I gave in to my age old saying, ‘when in doubt wear sequins‘ and did just that. I started the look with this amazing sequin skirt for Avenue and went from there. I wanted to be comfortable and what’s more comfortable than a t-shirt and a hoody? Both pieces were five dollar scores from the Urban Outfitters outlet store. To complete this glam, sporty mesh I added my Topshop sneaker wedges in along with my favorite leather jacket from eBay.

One of the things I’ve vowed to do this summer is wear all the shit that still has tags on. Sadly, that’s about 1/3 of my closet and up until the other day this skirt from Jibri was apart of the neglected group. Initially I planned to get it shortened which is why it was sorta collecting dust. The sheen of the skirt creates a leathery look which I don’t too much mind since I may NEVER find a leather flare skirt. It’s pretty clear that my ‘default’ shoes where used for this look as well as my other favorite; stripes. The bag was a gift to myself from myself and it is nothing short of glorious. Oh, and apparently I look like I volunteered at the church bake sale when in actuality I was going to a barbeque.

After hours of searching for the perfect dress to wear to a wedding I remembered I’d recently purchased this nude colored dress from Monif C. Worn on it’s own it’s a bit inappropriate for the occasion but paired with a simple black blazer and flats the dress was perfect. The blazer I picked up from Lane Bryant has been in heavy rotation since gifted to me last year and the flats are my go to shoes for comfort and a little pizazz. All in all the night sucked but at least I looked amazing!!!
