Color Splash

I’m obsessed with color. However, I’m even more obsessed with putting colors that don’t really ‘go’ together. This look is an example of that. I scored the blazer at a thrift store for six bucks and the dress is from the main range at Forever 21.

Elements of Style

If someone were to ask me to define my style in one word I’d be unable to. I’ve worn things that could be labeled as girly, sophisticated, edgy, trendy, sporty or glam. So where does that leave me? I read one of my favorite magazines the other day and stumbled across one of those silly ‘what’s my style’ quizzes. It labeled me a Goth… yeah. I found it pretty funny and took a few more quizzes online which earned me results like classically chic, trendy, ethnic and my fav un-categorically quirky. Five quizzes, five totally different results later I was still clueless as to what my style is. Here’s what I do know I buy things that please my eye be it girly, glam or gothic, I wear it in a way that’s flattering and I post it here for all of you to see. Pictures speak louder than words…

Back for the First Time

3 months. This is the longest I’ve gone without shopping since I started my first job at 16. My unintentional ban should have everything to do with budgeting and being a responsible adult but that’s not the case. There isn’t a day that passes that I don’t attempt to buy something but nowadays that seems like an impossible task. I’m less than unimpressed with most of my favorite retailers and it’s left me in a fashion rut. However, there is a bright side to this depressing situation. With nothing new coming in I’ve been forced to shop my own closet. All the pieces that I’ve bought and neglected or the older ones that I’d completely written off are now getting the attention they deserve. I purchased this blouse over a year ago and forgot that it existed up until last week. The skirt and the blazer have the same story; bought and forgotten. Hopefully in the near future there will be something for me to buy but until then I’ll try my hardest to reincarnate my old pieces. *sigh*
